MTM Audi RS5 WallpaperIn one of its more 'lighter' tuning proposals, MTM has released details on its new line of performance upgrades for the Audi RS5 coupe. Instead of fiddling around with the RS5's 450HP V8 engine to increase the car's top speed, the German tuning simply reprograms the factory electronic speed limiter of 250km/h or 280 km/h, allowing the coupe to reach a maximum velocity of 303 km/h or 188mph. The cost for the removal of the speed limiter is a hefty €1,499 or a little over US$1,900 at today's exchange rates.MTM's program also includes a stainless steel sports exhaust system with throttle valves for €2,998 (US$3,850) and nine-spoke alloy rims, which are available in sizes 19", 20" and 21", with prices starting from €2,249 (US$2890). According to the tuner, an individually adjustable spring-kit is in development and will be offered later this year.

Ingolstadt based Audi has introduce another Sportback into their range of cars in the form of the A7 Sportback. According to Audi, Sportback Concept brings together the best of three worlds:"the sporty elegance of a coupe, the comfort of a sedan and the practicality of a station wagon." In reality, the A7 Sportback is a shaper looking version of the next A6 with a lower roofline, a more practical rear hatch and seating for four.The car's exterior and interior design has remained largely untouched over the 2009 Detroit show car with most changes concerning practical details such as the larger head- and tail lamps and the shape and size of the exterior mirrors, along with the less fancy trim inside. And oh, it also gets a neat retractable rear spoiler similar to the one found on the Porsche Panamera.The five-door coupe, which is positioned between the A6 and A8, is 4.97 meters (16.31 ft) long and 1.91 meters (6.27 ft) wide, but only 1.42 meters (4.66 ft) high. The rear hatch reveals a luggage compartment with a capacity of 535-liters (18.89 cu ft) that can swell to a volume of 1,390 liters (49.09 cu ft) with the split rear seat backrests folded down.Under the sheetmetal, the A7 Sportback rides on a modified architecture of the next A6, which is due in both sedan and Avant (Audi talk for Station Wagon) forms in 2011.Audi will initially offer the A7 Sportback with a choice of two gasoline and two turbo diesel V6 engines, all featuring direct injection, an energy recuperation system and stop & start technology.The petrol range comprises of the 2.8 FSI and 3.0 TFSI models, both of which are paired with a dual clutch S-Tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.The naturally-aspirated 2.8-liter unit produces 204HP and 280 Nm (206.52 lb-ft) of torque at 5,250 rpm propelling the A7 from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 8.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 235 km/h (146mph). It consumes 8.0lt / 100 km (29.4 US mpg) on average, which corresponds to 187g/km of CO2 (300.95 g/mile).The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 unit delivers 300 hp) between 5,250 and 6,500 rpm, and delivers 440 Nm (324.53 lb-ft) of torque between 2,900 and 4,500 rpm. The standard sprint takes 5.6 seconds, and top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), while fuel consumption is 8.2 lt/100km (28.7 US mpg), corresponding to 190 g/km of CO2 (305.8 g/mile).In the diesel front, Audi offers two versions of the 3.0-liter V6 TDI. The more powerful variant produces 245HP between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm and 500Nm (368.78 lb-ft) of torque between 1,400 and 3,250 rpm, and comes with the S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive as standard.The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 6.5 seconds and top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), while average fuel consumption is rated at 6.0lt/100km (39.2 US mpg) with CO2 emissions of 158 g/km (254.3 g/mile).The basic version of the 3.0-liter TDI churns out 204HP between 3,750 and 4,500 rpm and will be available only with front-wheel drive and a multitronic automatic transmission. With this engine, the A7 Sportback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 234 km/h (145 mph), while consuming 5.3 liters of diesel per 100 km (44.4 US mpg) with CO2 emissions of 139g/km (223.70 g/mile).Though Audi didn't say it officially, expect to see performance-oriented S7 and RS7 variants, as well as a hybrid model being added to the lineup within the next year or so.

2011 Audi TTS Coupe Wallpaper

Audi has release a new set of photos depicting the subtly facelifted 2011 TTS Coupe that will go on sale in the U.S. this fall. Cosmetic changes are limited to the revised single-frame grille with its aluminum-look horizontal double bars and the bumper, along with the addition of a new Panther Black exterior finish and a new two-tone (silver/black) option for the interior.Unlike the base 2011 TTs, there are no mechanical upgrades for the TTS Coupe and its Roadster sibling that continue to be powered by the Audi's 2.0-liter TFSI with the larger turbocharger and other modifications that develops 272HP and 350Nm (258.15 lb-ft) of torque, the latter from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm.Audi mention that the TTS Coupe with the optional S tronic sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds and goes up to a governed top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). With the S tronic, the Coupé consumes an average of 7.7 liters of fuel per 100 km which is equal to 30.55 mpg US.

German tuners Avus is offering a tuning package for the Audi S4 Sedan which includes a custom exhaust system help bring the 3.0-liter supercharged V6's output from 333HP to 430HP.To help the modified S4 to tackle corners better,the German tuner adds a new spring kit as well a new set of lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in 255/30 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo sport tires.Exterior changes are limited to the front grille and spoiler, and rear diffuser that are simply painted in a shiny black shade. Alternatively, these parts can be ordered in carbon fiber.As for the interior, Avus offers buyers the choice of various leather finishes and a variety of carbon fiber trim parts.

This year's edition of the Wörthersee GTI Tour that takes place in Reifnitz, Austria, on May 12 will see Audi showcasing seven custom versions of its new A1 premium supermini, including a model sporting an "FC Bayern" look, taxi and police variants.The other four custom A1s are a "Hot Rod" version with a matt-finish look, steel wheels with white-wall tires and extremely low ride height thanks to the air suspension, one fitted with a "competition kit" that pays homage to Audi rally vehicles from the 1980s, the "Wasserwacht" model that's dedicated to the local water rescue service and a "Fashion" edition."The Audi A1 fits in with the GTI meet because customization has always been a central topic for the Audi fans here at the Wörthersee and will also play a special role for A1 customers," says the Head of Audi Design, Stefan Sielaff, who was responsible for the creation of the special edition models.

Audi has lifted the covers off a more powerful, lighter and faster special edition version of its mid-engined supercar called the R8 GT. When I say lighter, I mean a whooping 100 kg lighter.How did the guys at Ingolstadt did it you ask...do note that the standard R8 V10 is not a heavy car at 1,625 kg, thanks to its aluminum space frame body, so Audi has worked hard to shave the grams here. The GT’s windshield is made of thinner glass; the bulkhead between the passenger cell and engine compartment, as well as the rear hatch window are made of polycarbonate. These three items alone saved 9 kg. Other measures include a fixed rear wing (1.2 kg), thinner sheet metal and additional cutouts from the aluminum front hatch (2.6 kg) and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) rear hatch (6.6 kg). The rear bumpers and sideblades are also made from CFRP.Audi’s 5.2-litre direct injection V10 engine makes 560 bhp and 540 Nm here, thanks to tweaks to the electronics. The hand built engine is paired to a six-speed dual clutch gearbox and power is goes to all wheels via Audi’s quattro AWD. The system sends 15% of power to the front axle and 85% to the rear in normal driving. Audi says that this ratio goes well with the R8 GT’s 43:57 weight distribution.All this effort results in the Audi R8 GT having making the century sprint in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h or 199mph. It will be produced in a strictly limited number of 333 units with prices in Germany set at €193,000, or about US$256,500 at today's exchange rates.
