The New Audi A3 cabriolet sports a new 1.2 TFSI engine that produces 105HP along with 175Nm of peak torque of output. Transmitting power to the wheels of the A3 cabriolet is a six-speed manual transmission, which enable the A3 cabriolet to reach 100km/h (62mph) from rest in 12.2 seconds, and continue on to a maximum speed of 190km/h (118mph). Despite these improvements in performance, the new A3 cabrio's fuel economy improved by 9.2mpg UK (7.6mpg US) to 49.6mpg UK (equal to 41.3mpg US and 5.7lt/100km), and reduce CO2 output by 35g/km to 132g/km.

The Audi A3 is given mild touch up for year 2011 along with the Q7 and new TT launched recently.Among the exterior changes which is hardly noticeable are the single-frame grille element and trims on the B-columns that are painted in high-gloss black, chrome struts on the lower air inlets ,revised exterior mirrors and chrome strips in the door handles (except on the S3).A new rear diffuser insert, the tinted tail lamps on the three-door version, an updated line of alloy wheel designs and the addition of four new paint finishes (Volcano Red, Dakota Gray, Amethyst Gray and Scuba Blue) complete the exterior upgrades on the Audi A3.Key changes to A3's interior are limited to the gray background of the dials, the revised flat-bottomed leather sports steering wheel with trim ring, a new selector lever for the S tronic gearbox, the black rings on the air vents and a high-gloss trim for the optional navigation system plus.Engine options for the Audi A3 remains the same and include five gasoline and four diesel units, all turbocharged with direct-injection technology, ranging in output from the 90HP 1.6 TDI and 105HP 1.2 TFSI to the S3's 265HP 2.0 TFSI.
